Don't cry, darling! Katie Holmes comforts a tearful Suri and holds on tight to the youngster's hand

Something was upsetting little Suri Cruise on Tuesday and the six-year-old was seen bursting into tears during an outing with her mother Katie Holmes.
The actress did her best to comfort her crying daughter as the pair were left an an office building in New York together.
Katie, 33, crouched down so she was closer to Suri's height and held on tight to the youngster's hand.

It was unclear what the matter was, but Katie didn't seem too worried as she gave a little smile and simply appeared to be focused on getting Suri home.
All had been well between the mother and daughter duo earlier on when they were seen enjoying a Big Apple outing while bundled against the cold in their lookalike ensembles.
Mother-of-one Katie held her hooded puffer coat tight to keep the wind at bay, while Suri wore a miniature pink version of the same jacket.

Keeping Suri close while the pair walked across a busy Manhattan street, a bright pink flower peeked from beneath Suri's hood.
Katie carried her daughter's matching pink leopard backpack, but was dressed in more muted colours, wearing navy and black.
The actress and her little girl - whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise - appeared to bump into some friends on their outing, and stopped for a chat with two children accompanied by an older woman.
The Batman star has been seen riding the subway on several occasions and has even taken six-year-old daughter along for the ride home to their relatively modest two-bedroom, two and a half bath apartment in the artsy Chelsea Mercantile neighbourhood.

Today the pair was out in the trendy Tribeca neighbourhood - and after Katie underwent somewhat of a transformation during an adult outing on Monday evening.
The 33-year-old actress positively dazzled in a slinky and sexy floor-length purple gown as she attended the 2012 Broadway Dreams Foundation Champagne And Caroling Gala at Celsius in New York City.

And the mother-of-one certainly seemed to have a whale of a time at the event, beaming from ear-to-ear as she left the venue alongside her lawyer.

Posing up a storm on the red carpet alongside director Jack O'Brien, Katie looked confident and content as she prepared to make her way inside the event.
The flowing gown swathed perfectly over her slender and statuesque figure and the colour looked great on the brunette star.
Katie let her dress do all of the talking by wearing a pair of simple green heels and no other accessories.

Since starring in her new show Dead Accounts, Katie has become somewhat the toast of Broadway and has been hobnobbing with several key figures in the theatre scene.
Katie has been working nonstop on her Broadway play about a prodigal son who returns home from urban New York to his slow-paced Midwest hometown.
Despite less than stellar reviews, Katie has been going at it full steam ahead.
Dead Accounts opened for previews on November 3 and is scheduled to run through February 2013.
